Kensington Golf and Country Club

Filling and Excavating Lake Area and Lakeshore Stabilization

Project Summary

Griffiths Engineering provided Civil Engineering services to stabilize lake embankment areas around the Kensington Golf and Country Club.

Also we provided Civil Engineering plans and developed construction level plans and specifications to expand the existing practice facilities by filling a section of the first fairway lake adjacent to the practice facility and expand the lake area adjacent to the 9th green to maintain the same stormwater storage capacity as the current system.

Griffiths Engineering worked closely with Kensington Country Club's board, Homeowners Association, and Superintendent in developing Civil Engineering plans and construction level plans. A balanced cut and fill was achieved by expanding their 9th hole green lake while filling a finger of the club's showcase lake. This expansion resulted in over two hundred linear feet of new practice area and lush aquatic greenspace to the golf course. Careful consideration was taken in maintaining storm water runoff amounts and nutrient loading in ecologically sensitive areas. Sustainable approaches in material repurposing and emphasis on watershed resilience shine through in this Naples golf classic.
